Retail developer Immochan Ukraine took part in the City Evolution Real estate exhibition

On October, 2013 retail developer Immochan Ukraine (Ukraine, Kyiv; Group Auchan) took part in City Evolution Real estate exhibition, which was held in Kyiv, Ukraine.

The company shared their plans for 2014 – 2016 and introduced the project of Rose Park shopping mall, one of the largest shopping and entertainment centers in Donetsk Oblast (a large province in South-Eastern Ukraine), to visitors and participants.

Rose Park is the second stage of the hypermarket Auchan (Donetsk Oblast) which has been successfully operating since 2008. Now the project is under active construction, and its opening is planned for the first half of 2014.

Currently Rose Park is filled for 85% or 25 845 sq.m. of shopping space. In September and October company signed new leases agreements with: SPRINGFIELD, Women Secret, Intertop, Ecco, Pandora, as well as the anchor renter MANGO MEGASTORE – it will be the first corporate store in Ukraine, where collections for men, women and children will be presented.

“Shopping mall is filled with brands in accordance with the expectations of the region’s residents. We are guided by conducted research and actively develop partnerships and mutually beneficial relations with new operators for the Ukrainian market. Our goal is to provide a unique brand concept projects for people", said Ilya Sazhin, leasing director of Immochan Ukraine.

Next year Immochan Ukraine starts a construction of shopping center on the left bank of Kyiv (capital of Ukraine) and its fazing schedule opening is planned during 2015 - 2016.

One more project in 2014 is the construction of a hypermarket and a shopping mall in Odessa (city in South of Ukraine along the Black Sea coast) by 2015-2016. Immochan Ukraine plans to expand it to the size of more than 50 thousand square meters of GLA. As the Company states, the project is planned to be a landmark for the city and recognized brand at the entrance to Odessa.

As a part of City Evolution, Anna Koriagina, director of Rose Park, gave a report "Cooperation with renters in the certification of the property". Anna spoke about the BREEAM environmental certification. She shared the experience of working with renters on a "green" lease agreement in Ukraine. In a majority Ukraine doesn’t practice this kind of agreements.

"Many renters are ready for partnership and we signed "green" lease agreement. It should be noted that renters confirmed the willingness to follow green standards and even make changes in their concepts. It will allow us to achieve maximum resource efficiency of the Mall in general", shared Anna Koryagina.

On the second day of the event, Philip Beurtheret, director of Immochan Ukraine and Michelle Zhalats, manager ICSC on membership in Europe, held a public meeting of ICSC. Speakers raised the issue of membership of the commercial real estate players in the ICSC and shared the status of cases to establish the Council of shopping centers in Ukraine (ICSC).

Immochan Ukraine is an initiator of organizing ICSC in Ukraine. The company has a successful experience in international commercial real estate markets and actively introduces international practices in Ukraine: "The participation in such organization is a great opportunity for the Ukrainian real estate market to tell about its potential to foreign investors, tenants and contractors", said Philip Beurtheret.

During City Awards Immochan Ukraine received the highest award in the field of development sphere for its innovative design and introduction of European standards for Rose Park shopping mall.
